As we've all heard, the worst thing about other people is that they aren't and nowhere is that more evident then in Pro Clubs, where drop-in games are full of wingers who overwhelm the AI with bizarre calls to pass the ball. It's fun to grow your"creature-a-pro" into a Shrek goal-killer with a closet full of silly hats but when your progression is tied to your in-game rating it's a reason to be rewarded for dispossessing skill move runs which even Saint Maximin wouldn't bother with.
However, FIFA's street-football automobile, Volta, suffers a similar fate. It is exemplified by the new 'Take Flight' Signature Ability that transforms you into an aerial master. Because the ability relies on collaboration and crossing, the majority users simply choose Power Strike and haphazardly smack the ball in a joy-seeking run.
The positive side is that it appears EA heard my pleas for an improved Volta Arcade, so I can take full credit for the fact that it has been upgraded to an exciting battle royale mode with fun mini-games and obstacles courses that bring back the best aspects of Fall Guys. It's still a bit risible for it to be only offered on Saturdays, though.
Quelle surprise, Ultimate Team has received the highest amount of attention. Additionally, the team training mode I've long been searching for has finally appeared with FUT Moments. Moments is a small-sized portion of FIFA games that reward players with enjoyable challenges designed to determine your physique and figure out how different cards work together.
It's early doors however, there's a huge opportunity to document the careers of players and recreate the most memorable moments from football history with this kind of mode. The current game contains highlights from the golden years that included Jurgen Klopp and Kylian Mbappe. However, in next year's game, it'd be fascinating to see what EA's team can do with other legends of football like Pele and 'King' Kazuyoshi Miura.
