Some Of Diablo IV's classes, while not technically new aren't new to the game for quite a while D2R ladder items. The Rogue comes back from the original Diablo which is actually a mix between Diablo's Amazon and Assassin classes. Also, the Druid from Diablo also makes an appearance. The game's three other classes - the Barbarian, Sorceress, and Necromancer have appeared used in Diablo, III, and Diablo Immortal.

Diablo community director Adam Fletcher recently confirmed the plan to eventually sell paid expansions for Diablo IV (in addition to optional cosmetics in the in-game shop) which means it's possible that new classes will be included in the game post launch. Diablo Immortal is slated to receive new classes over time as free updates. The game's fans have already been able to identify a possibility of a franchise-first character, the Blood Knight.

Diablo IV is set to be released in 2023 following the resignation of the game's previous director at the end of 2021. It was the wake of several litigations and investigations related to the accused culture of sexual harassing and discrimination within Activision Blizzard. In the event that Diablo IV does release, it will support cross-play and cross-progression between consoles and PC.

This is the first confirmation to confirm that Diablo IV will come with an in-game store and microtransactions of some kind, while assuring that Blizzard's upcoming entry in the RPG franchise will be taking the traditional live-service approach, with a seasonal twist.

The news about the possibility that Diablo IV will have an in-game store has a few fans of the series concerned buy diablo II resurrected items, especially given the recent release of Blizzard's free-to-play smartphone game Diablo Immortal, which is also playable on PC with Cross-play and cross-progression across platforms.
