To learn more about Jagex's decision to publish This Means Warp OSRS Gold For Sale, we have reached out to Outlier Games' founders Paul Froggatt and Matt Rathbun, and Lead Product Management for Jagex Robert Fox-Galassi to get their thoughts about this new partnership.
Like most indie game developers our beginnings in the games industry was from playing around with games and game ideas over a many years before coming up with something usable!
I've got 10 years' work experience at Google before I decided to pivot to gaming full-time. Matt's work spans the construction of Hollywood computer systems for film sets, a brief stint with South Korean esports and mobile game development. We're thrilled to share what we've made using This Means Warp.
Many video games have been a source of inspiration for aspiring developers to make their own. But it's rare to have a derivative work picked up by the same company that created the original game.
This, however, was the case with Brendan Malcolm, the one-man team at Australian game developer Games By Malcs, whose idle RPG Melvor Idle is being published by Jagex which is the developer of RuneScape, a title that was at the heart of Malcolm's idea behind the project.
Melvor Idle strips away the 3D graphics and environments of RuneScape as well as other MMOs and distills it down to a menu-based idle game where players are able to manage their abilities, inventory and quests. Activating combat encounters with a winning streak earns players XP and loot, which can be placed into the upgrade tree players prefer cheapest osrs gold, and repeating activities like crafting and woodcutting can bring benefits.
