What I would do... Simply pretend that you didn't do it. being a snitch has nothing to anything to do with it. What kind of buddies do you have? If you let rules of the game get in the way between each other and the person you're with isn't a good thing to do. It doesn't matter if the person does not know about it. You're destroying the enjoyment of your friend because a company that isn't giving any attention to the fact that you must.
I think so it is not a case of him going to his friend and say "hey, you know the way you were banned for botting? Oh, and it was me who reported you."
