The adidas P.O.D. System 3.1 is one of the most intriguing new silhouettes from the Three Stripes this year. The new lifestyle model is an interesting new look, debuting in limited numbers early this Summer. The adidas Point of Defection System 3.1 was first leaked very early on this year. The silhouette caused a commotion among sneakerheads, sparking fierce debate about the validity of such an interesting-looking shoe. The adidas P.O.D. System is the first of its kind for the brand. The upper of the new lifestyle model combines style elements of Yeezy, NMD, as well as many different adidas Originals silhouettes. Made mostly of mesh, the upper of the POD 3.1 appears to be fairly loose and baggy in early in-hand images. The mesh is fairly simple, with few overlays used to add support, with the exception of the eyelets. To add a touch of color, small strips are added to the medial side, heel tab, and between the laces.

adidas P.O.D. System 3.1 Core Black is the most intriguing piece of the advanced shoe. The POD System 3.1 uses a newly designed midsole that combines adidas’ famous Boost technology with Dual-Density EVA rubber for a sturdy & springy feel. The two pieces of the sole are split from each other, with the denser, more supportive EVA taking over the forefoot of the shoe, while the Boost occupies a small portion of the heel. The two never meet and are attached only by a stiff TPU plate that extends up the sides for stability. The outsole of the adidas POD 3.1 has an industrial feel to it given the rugged and durable look. The sole is important because it marks a new direction for adidas’ use of Boost in lifestyle models. The split-material construction allows for more support in the areas that need it, while the Boost lets your heels rest comfortably. The first colorway to release was recently revealed by YzyLab, along with the initial release information. The “OG” colorway will cover the upper in black, with bright hits of teal shining around the shoe. The sole will come in two colors, black for the forefoot EVA, and the Boost in its raw white color. The colorway is completed by the neon green support plate connecting the pieces of the sole.
